In the May 09 issue Remo had a 1 page ad expressing sympathy and gratitude to Louie. They ran the ad in the June issue as well. Alfred Music and Zildjian also ran full page ads...which were very nice...in the June issue.

My first instrument was, dare I say it? The accordian. Although I learned to hate it, I did leard to sight read both bass and trebbel clef because of it. I took five years of starting when I was about ten. I switched to guitar at fifteen. Studied classical for about two years only to find out that there was no demand for it. at seventeen I got into rock, and shortly after, jazz. I've been a jazz musician ever since.
some of my fondest memories are,going to see a great movie,followed by a cartoon,then the news reel.svved the best for last.the curtains wouls close,then you would hear the theme of which ever band was on stage,the curtain would open,the house lights would hit the horns and you were in for 90 min.of great music.all for 60cents.and stay as long as you like!
I am 81,been playing drums for 70 yrs.still play.set of traps at my house,another at sons house.delighted to keep the name (gene krupa)alive.i liked buddy for speed,dave tough for timing and gene for the tone he got out of those drums.
