I think it is unfortunate that this aspec of gene's life should be getting so much attention after all these years, especially in view of todays attitude on drugs.we all know that many of the yesteryear, and todays musicians are using but gene's see...

Bruce, Hope you're right about MD possibly doing something more for Louie in the future. You are certainly right about the stuff they have done for him in the past...in fact, that's a part of why I was so disappointed at the way they handled his ...

While I don't want to be in a position of defending Modern Drummer, or anyone for that matter, I will say that through the years, MD did an awful lot on Louie Bellson in terms of interviews, features, etc. I get the sense that they may do somethin...

My first instrument was, dare I say it? The accordian. Although I learned to hate it, I did leard to sight read both bass and trebbel clef because of it. I took five years of starting when I was about ten. I switched to guitar at fifteen. Studied classical for about two years only to find out that there was no demand for it. at seventeen I got into rock, and shortly after, jazz. I've been a jazz musician ever since.

G'day Jim
And a big welcome to our Forum.
It is marvellous that you are still playing drums at your great age, something that we all aspire to.

We look forward to hearing from you regarding some of your musical experiences from the past 70 years.

Kindest regards

Terry
