Hi, The reason for joining is because I have idolised G K for 43 years this September. My father had a large collection of records which he collected during active service during World War 2 and was a survivor of Bomber Command flying Lancasters from 1943. Music had allways been an interest from a very early age and one evening I had asked if he could play some records and after some 5 or 6 sides were played, I asked if he could play something with a good beat. He spent some time looking and then put a record on,after the fourth bar or so I was locked in to the drumming of GK.My collection contains everything recoded under Gene's name, the vast majority of material with him present pre 1934, and a vast collection of post 1951, I also have several one sided master discs of 1938 to 1942 of the Krupa band never realeased before as well as some trio tracks from 1945. In addition several hundred photo's of GK,and some signed. Many Downbeat, and Metronome mags as well as Collier. A large colection of film poster's all original of all the Film's he appeared in as well as many complete lobby card sets and press books, Some like it hot , Rhythm romance being excellent. All I have done is study the man his life and times. I n addition to this I have quite a large record collection etc. I have known Brooks for some 15 years he is a professional drummer and has performed the Goodman Carnegie Hall Concert Many times and has both types of Slingerland sets GK used. He also sat at Krupa's feet during a live performance Gene did with his quartet during the early 60's at the Mardi Gras Club in Baltimore. Again he has a vast knowledge of GK also. Klauber's book the Pictorial legend contains so many mistakes which is a great shame and he seems to believe that he is a leading authority on the man. You don't seem to be far away what about a meet or phone call? My number is 01772 724128. I llok forward to hearing from you!

Would you mind elaborating? Such a claim can cause trouble without evidence to support your backing. I'm not saying you're right or wrong, I just want to know.
