hello paul rifftide here or jim to my mates which you certainly are.
Your grandad kills me every time i hear those masterly drums, especially "when we were young maggie".
Hope your doing ok in the big apple, and im sorry we dont chat like we once did, but i have no landline these days and use my mums pc.
Im ok i have a nice little dog, a new flat and a new job so thats ok.

Thanks for putting me on to ace drummer Kevin Dorn who plays with such style and class and doesnt use this forum to promote himself.

Keep in touch old mate and all best from me.
Jim

Hi Peter Paul, lovely to hear from you. Glad to hear you are fighting that nasty illness, and I wish you the best of health.
I am eternally gratefull to Tony for the inspiration he gave me and still continues to do.
Jim mentions 'Maggie', which is a great performance, but the killer for me is the 1936 small band recording of 'Tiger Rag', with Tony driving Nick LaRocca's searing horn. Tremendous drumming and a real desert Island disc.

Good to hear you are keeping well too, Jim. Good luck wwith the new job.
Keep swinging
John
