Have been watching the discussion about Gene's War era bass drum heads. (I love this stuff!). Posting a photo would certainly answer any questions about the 'G" or "not G" between the different heads (and there were more than one). I can happily go into 'chapter and verse' about the differences between the two if needed but the kicker is that, of all the many photos I have of Gene's assorted bands (those not still framed and packed in boxes), the only one I have of that era head is the shot of Anita standing directly in front of (and ...Murphy's Law....) completely obscuring the word "Flyin'" or "FlyinG"....which ever it is. Most know more of the later version of that head as it seems to have been more widely photographed (including Shaw's 'SWANK' booklet) and, though it has considerable differences from the earlier version, it does say "FLYING". The shot in Bruce's book, however is of the earlier head. Paul...(yes, I know, I STILL owe you pictures after all these years!!...have never forgotten) if you have a good shot of the head in question (the earlier version), perhaps you could post that and another question can be answered for Mike (and everyone else's) benefit.
